The objective of the Cybersecurity Innovation for Cyberinfrastructure (CICI) program is to develop, deploy and integrate solutions that benefit the broader scientific community by securing science data, workflows, and infrastructure.  There are three sections:

  1. Usable and Collaborative Security for Science (UCSS): Projects in this program area should support novel and applied security and usability research that facilitates scientific collaboration, encourages the adoption of security into the scientific workflow, and helps create a holistic, integrated security environment that spans the entire scientific CI ecosystem.
  2. Reference Scientific Security Datasets (RSSD):Projects in this program area should capture the unique properties of scientific workflows and workloads as reference data artifacts to support reproducible security research and protect the scientific process.
  3. Scientific Infrastructure Vulnerability Discovery (SIVD): Projects in this program area should develop and apply techniques to proactively discover vulnerabilities and weaknesses in scientific infrastructure.

The Division of Technology & Security (DTS) at South Dakota State University (SDSU) is announcing an opening for a 12-month, full-time, benefit-eligible Research Compute and Data Application Specialist. This position will support the research needs at South Dakota State University through research computing application support and applicable system software stack integration services.

The Advanced Cyberinfrastructure Senior Research Education Facilitator (ACIREF-Sr.) will assist the ACI Manager with educating faculty and student researchers on the use of UND research computing systems (High Performance Computing/Big Data) and software housed in the Computational Research Center (CRC). At the direction of the ACI Manager, the position will 1) design and oversee the conduct of end-user, systems personnel, and public outreach training; 2) provide advice for the development of scientific computing software; 3) promote usage of CRC systems throughout the campus; 4) provide user support as needed in consultation with the NDUS Core Technology Services team; and 5) assist in the development of funding proposals.
