Information Technology Services (ITS) at Iowa State University is seeking qualified candidates for the System Analyst position. Depending on the level of experience, the individual may be hired as a Systems Analyst II or III. ITS provides core computing, network services, enterprise systems, and information security resources to students, faculty, and staff. ITS also collaborates with technology professionals campus wide to provide specialized IT resources to academic and business units.
The System Analyst is responsible for onsite and remote support needs for our customers. This position will ensure the campus and customers’ needs are addressed by focusing on architecture, design and implementation of visionary technology solutions. This relates to a multitude of technologies and includes but is not limited to: virtualization of servers and desktops, storage, cloud services, mobile computing, servers, operating systems, applications, networking and vendor specific hardware and software.
The Systems Analyst II will work as part of a team to implement and maintain technology solutions for campus. The position will provide tier 2 and 3 support for campus IT users and services, and work closely with vendors to plan and maintain technology solutions.
In the addition to the above, the Systems Analyst III will lead and participate on teams to plan, implement and maintain technology solutions for campus. This position will act as a technology lead on campus wide projects and initiatives, provide tier 2 and 3 support for campus IT users and services, and work with vendors to identify and implement appropriate technology solutions to the campus environment.
Successful candidates should have a passion for helping customers leverage technology to improve their effectiveness. In addition, the candidate will possess the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at once; strong communication skills; and the ability to work successfully in agile, team oriented environments.
